Teen Charged with Armed Robbery After Quick Arrest by D.C. Police

The Metropolitan Police Department has quickly concluded an armed robbery incident that occurred in Northeast D.C. that resulted in the arrest of a local teenager.

According to an MPD press statement, the event unfolded last Friday evening, when Sixth District officers were summoned to the 1400 block of Eastern Avenue Northeast in response to reports of an armed robbery.

When law authorities arrived on the scene, they discovered that the alleged perpetrator, wielding a handgun, had confronted the victim and demanded their belongings, resulting in the victim’s phone being snatched and the suspect fleeing.

Officers demonstrated inventiveness and swift action by tracking the phone, which led them immediately to the offender and resulted in an arrest without incident. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, quick police effort resulted in charges against 19-year-old Andre Williams of Northeast for armed robbery (gun).
