Police: Harrisburg Man Charged After Pointing Gun At Woman And Driving Over Her

A 39-year-old Harrisburg man was arrested and charged this week after police said he pointed a gun at a woman and drove over her with his car, according to court documents.

A vehicle struck a pedestrian on August 2, prompting Harrisburg police to send them to UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.

Police stated the victim received a serious injury to her right ankle.

Police then interviewed a witness, who reported seeing the victim return a white Mercedes-Benz SUV to Robert E. Macklin near 13th and Evergreen streets.

The witness told the police. Macklin assaulted the victim as she was returning the SUV. Shortly after, Mackilin entered a nearby home and took a rifle.

According to the witness, Macklin then racked the slide of the revolver and pointed it at the victim.

Macklin entered the home a second time before getting into the SUV and running over the victim, according to authorities.

Macklin faces a felony count of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge of simple assault.

Macklin was released from Dauphin County Prison on Tuesday after posting a $25,000 bond. He is expected to appear at a preliminary hearing on August 18.
