A suspect was recently detained in Central Florida for a fatal liquor store shooting in 2022, after he returned from fleeing to Mexico.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested Oscar Juan Molina, 48, as the suspect in the 2022 fatal shooting outside a Plant City liquor store. He was arrested after being found in Hillsborough County.
Molina was wanted in connection to a homicide that occurred on April 13, 2022, at Twilight Zone Liquor, 4010 State Road 60 East. A fight inside the business turned into a shooting in the parking lot, which killed one person.
Since the incident, Molina fled to Mexico and remained out of the country. Knowing that he had returned to Hillsborough County, HCSO quickly apprehended this dangerous individual.
“This arrest brings long-awaited closure to the victim’s family and sends a clear message: we never stop seeking justice,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This suspect believed he could disappear, but our determination to bring justice to victims and their families never fades. Thanks to the relentless efforts of our detectives, this dangerous individual is now exactly where he belongs, behind bars.”
Local law enforcement reports that this is an ongoing investigation.
