A Mississippi woman was taken into custody on Wednesday for Medicaid fraud.
According to the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, Taylorsville resident Pearly Youngblood pleaded guilty to one count of Medicaid fraud.
According to a release, Youngblood, a Blessing Hearts Healthcare employee, willfully filed fake Medicaid claims for services she did not deliver.
On July 28, she was ordered to pay full restitution to the Mississippi Division of Medicaid in the amount of $16,598.40, plus $4,000 in fines and fees.
Youngblood also received five years of non-adjudicated probation from the Mississippi Department of Corrections and will be placed on the federal exclusion list for five years, preventing her from participating in Medicaid, Medicare, or any other federal health-care program.
