Two women were detained on narcotics charges in Tewksbury after a police investigation.
Sophie Olson, 35, of Boston, and Ashley Martinez, 33, of Lawrence, were arrested on Friday, August 8, in connection with a narcotics investigation into crack cocaine distribution.
In July, the Tewksbury Police Department’s Narcotics Unit launched an investigation into crack cocaine distribution in town.
During the inquiry, police identified the target as Olson.
Olson and her passenger, Martinez, were arrested without incident in the area of 365 Main St. on Friday, Aug. 8, at around 1:30 p.m., following an investigation.
Detectives confiscated unreported amounts of fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine, Xanax, cash, and narcotics-related accessories.
The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office and the Andover Police Department provided assistance to Tewksbury Police.
Olson was charged with possessing with intent to distribute a Class B drug, dispensing a Class B drug, possessing a Class C drug, and possessing with intent to distribute a Class E drug.
Martinez was charged with possessing a Class A narcotic. Possession with intent to distribute a class B drug, distribution of a class B drug, and possession with intent to distribute a class E substance.
Both are set for arraignment in Lowell District Court on Monday.
