Reid was a passenger in a car stopped on SE Hwy. 42 near Mulberry Grove Plaza in The Villages when she was arrested in January, according to an arrest record from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle’s license plate was fully obstructed and unreadable due to the wheelchair ramp. The deputy who conducted the traffic check approached the vehicle and detected a “strong odor” of marijuana. The driver confirmed that she had recently bought the marijuana. Reid, who was riding in the front passenger seat, gave her cousin’s name and date of birth when asked about her identity. The deputy discovered that the cousin’s photograph did not match Reid, who was wanted on many warrants. She admitted that she lied about her identification to avoid being arrested on the warrants.
