Last week, a brazen theft occurred at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Southeast Shelby County, but the swift action of local law enforcement led to a positive outcome. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reported on social media that two trailers containing about $6,000 in equipment were stolen from the church’s parking lot last Monday.
Investigators from the Burglary, Robbery, and Auto Theft (B.R.A.T.) unit responded quickly, identifying the suspect car involved in the heist. This breakthrough resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence on the 2100 block of Kentucky Street, when the situation took an unsettling turn. During the search, detectives discovered three loaded weapons, one of which was reported stolen from Southaven.
The endeavor resulted in the arrests of Gregory Bratcher, 42, and Jacobie Moore, 26. Bratcher is now facing accusations, including being a convicted felon in possession of a pistol and theft of items ranging from $10,000 to $60,000. Moore is also facing theft allegations. As the investigation continues, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has hinted that additional charges and arrests may be expected.
