A 26-year-old man from Coral Springs, Florida, was arrested Saturday evening on various offenses, including driving under the influence (DUI) and cocaine possession, after a traffic stop on U.S. 1.
Michael Alejandro Lopez was brought into arrest at approximately 7:34 p.m. near Mile Marker 84 after he was allegedly witnessed driving on the cycling route.
According to officials, Lopez was initially arrested for DUI. A later search allegedly turned up around 2.1 grams of cocaine and 3.4 grams of marijuana in his hands. He was also charged with possessing drug paraphernalia.
Lopez was transferred to the Monroe County Jail.
