Chandler Police Assist In The Rescue Of A Missing Kansas Girl At Hotel; Suspect Nabbed

Chandler police say officers assisted in rescuing a kidnapped teen girl from Kansas who was being held at a hotel and hours later arrested the suspect late last month.

According to a social media post, investigators received a contact from the Finney County Sheriff’s Office on July 31 reporting that a 14-year-old girl was missing from that county and possibly with a man in Chandler, roughly 700 miles away.

“Our unit’s goal was to rescue the juvenile and take care of her, get her where she needed to be,” said Chandler Police Sgt. Aaron Lowe.

Within two hours, officers located the girl in a hotel.

Police claimed they received information that the suspect, 23-year-old Christian Leonardo Caal Mucu, was nearby at work.

Bodycam video showed officers walking inside a warehouse and handcuffing Caal Mucu. “Anytime that we can identify and take a predator out of the community that’s looking to offend a child, that’s our mission,” according to Lowe.

Caal Mucu is charged with various felonies, including kidnapping, sexual misconduct with a minor, and sexual exploitation.

“Advice for parents is is know who your children are communicating with,” said Lowe.

No other information regarding the case was revealed.
