A Portland man who shot and killed a woman in front of her children two years ago on the day before Thanksgiving was sentenced to 29 years in state prison Tuesday.
Richard D. Simms Jr. had been dating Nicole Davis, 40, but any affection he once felt was poisoned by deadly wrath when he pulled out a revolver and shot her in the back on Nov. 22, 2023.
