An Indianapolis woman has been sentenced to six years in prison after federal investigators apprehended her and a companion with about 62 pounds of cocaine at Midway Airport last year.
On Thursday, Chania Logan, 27, pled guilty to manufacturing and delivering cocaine before Cook County Judge Stanley Sacks. While her sentence is six years, she is projected to be released in less than two years after getting the state’s normal 50% reduction for good behavior and credit for time spent in detention and wearing an ankle monitor.
Logan and a buddy flew from Los Angeles to Chicago’s Midway Airport on June 4, 2024, where they were met by a federal law enforcement task group.
Investigators discovered 31 pounds of suspected cocaine in Logan’s suitcase. When authorities approached, her partner fled, leaving behind two bags containing an additional 31 pounds of the drug, according to investigators.
