The police department said the investigation began on June 28, when officers responded to a Target in the 1200 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE after receiving allegations of a man filming inside the shop without the victim’s knowledge or consent.

Detectives later identified Dietrich as the culprit and connected him to four victims.

According to police, a search warrant was performed at Dietrich’s Bedford home on August 11, and he was arrested for different occurrences.

The evidence found during the search was reviewed, and Leesburg police obtained four warrants against Dietrich. Investigators also established that Dietrich did similar actions at stores in Bedford, Roanoke County, and Leesburg.

Dietrich was being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Lynchburg on Friday. The case is still under investigation.
