A man was shot and badly injured when his companion’s ex-boyfriend burst into an apartment in the Washington Park neighborhood on Monday morning.
The 34-year-old was in an apartment with a woman at 3:20 a.m. when her ex-boyfriend kicked in the door and shot him twice in the 6200 block of South Michigan Avenue, police said.
The victim was shot twice: once in the belly and once in the foot. He was treated on the spot and sent to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Police stated that no arrests had been made. Area One detectives are conducting an investigation.
