An Ocala woman just won $1 million with a $50 scratch-off ticket she purchased at a local convenience store.
On Monday, the Florida Lottery revealed that Jennifer Hatchett, 47, claimed a $1 million prize at the organization’s headquarters in Tallahassee on May 8.
According to the Florida Lottery, Hatchett purchased the winning ticket at Medical Food Mart (2534 SE 17th Street) in Ocala.
Hatchett won the prize in the “$1,000,000 A Year for Life Spectacular” scratch-off game. She opted to accept her prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $640,000.
The “$1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular” scratch-off costs $50 and has two grand prizes of $1 million per year for life. Additionally, there are 234 $1 million rewards. The Florida Lottery believes the ticket contains more than $1.6 billion in cash prizes.
This year, several Marion County residents won huge prizes from the Florida Lottery.
