A Clackamas County jury convicted a Gresham man on Tuesday of kidnapping and raping two women.
Julio Escamilla-Ramos, 31, was found guilty of multiple crimes, including first-degree kidnapping and first-degree rape.
Escamilla-Ramos, according to police, offered a ride to a 38-year-old lady walking home from a Molalla event in August 2023.
Instead of taking her home, he brought her to an isolated place, raped her, and left her.
The second case concerned a 22-year-old woman who had dated Escamilla-Ramos.
He allegedly purchased her clothes for a party and then demanded sex. After she declined, he raped her.
The woman managed to flee, but Escamilla-Ramos pursued her home. After calling the police, her family placed him in jail until they could get there.
The sentencing date for Escamilla-Ramos is September 29.
