A man was sentenced in the brutal murder of a south suburban teenager.
On October 28, 2021, Isaiah Davis, 17, was shot and killed. Prosecutors claimed his body was set on fire and abandoned in a Harvey alley.
Faheem Norwood, 34, was apprehended in January 2022 for the teen’s brutal murder. He was originally charged with hiding a crime, mishandling a corpse, murder, and dismembering a human body.
In March, nearly four years after the homicide, a jury convicted Norwood on two of those charges.
After almost three hours of discussion, the jury found Norwood guilty of concealing a homicide and abusing a corpse. However, he was judged not guilty of murder and dismemberment of a human body.
In August 2025, a judge condemned Norwood to a total of 13 years: ten for hiding a homicide accusation and three for abusing the corpse.
Previously in court, Norwood’s counsel stated that his client did not intend to shoot Isaiah Davis. They were playing a game when the accident occurred.
Earlier, the teen’s mother told ABC7 that she assisted in assembling the evidence and leading to Norwood’s arrest.
