Ocala Man Wins $47,000 Prize From Lottery Ticket Sold At Local Publix

An Ocala man has claimed more than $47,000 in lottery winnings from a ticket purchased at a local Publix.

Dennis Eugene Lawson won the $47,027.15 prize in the Florida Lottery’s Fantasy 5 game this week.

Lawson bought his winning ticket at the Publix at 303 SE 17th Street, Unit 201, in Churchill Square. The ticket was purchased for the game’s evening draw on August 24.

The Florida Lottery announced the winning numbers for the evening drawing on August 24: 19, 26, 29, 31, and 32.

Lawson accurately selected all five numbers for that draw, and he shared the reward with another person who did the same.

The other winning ticket from that evening’s drawing was also purchased at a Publix, but in Miami.

Fantasy 5 drawings happen twice a day, at 1:05 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. Tickets can be purchased up to 20 minutes before the drawing.
