A Lehigh County commissioner has been taken into custody as part of what prosecutors described as a “massive drug investigation” that spans many states.
District Attorney Gavin Holihan stated Friday that Commissioner Zachary Cole-Borghi had been arrested at Bethlehem City Hall. Holihan reported that Cole-Borghi had since posted bail.

The commissioner’s arrest is one of 22 made this week as part of a multi-year investigation led by the Lehigh County Drug Task Force and assisted by numerous counties.
“There have been 22 individuals who have been arrested as part of this investigation and we anticipate more arrests as the investigation proceeds,” Holihan said.
Authorities reported making arrests in Lehigh, Northampton, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, along with New York City, Chicago, and Wisconsin. The grand jury returned indictments.
During the inquiry, authorities seized cash, guns, cocaine, marijuana, and other items. Officials have not disclosed the whole list of those arrested.
The investigation is underway.
