Riverview Woman Detained After Early Morning Attack In Bartow

A Riverview woman has been detained and charged with burglary and battery after allegedly entering into a Bartow home and assaulting a longtime acquaintance on Friday morning.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies were dispatched to a local hospital to look into a battery complaint submitted by the victim. According to the victim’s statement, the incident started when 34-year-old Angela Renee Tilley of Riverview arrived at her Bartow home and continuously honked her car horn.

The victim, who had known Tilley all her life, opened the door and told her to leave. Tilley apparently tossed a shoe at the house before moving toward the front door. Tilley allegedly grabbed the door and pushed her way inside while the victim was attempting to close it.

Once inside, Tilley is accused of kicking and striking the victim in the head and body before escaping. The victim’s cellphone was also destroyed during the altercation. The woman told deputies that she had no idea why the unprovoked attack happened.

Following the investigation, Polk County deputies discovered and arrested Angela Tilley. She was taken to the Polk County Jail, where she was charged with burglary, assault, and criminal mischief.
