Intoxicated DC woman apprehended after allegedly kicking Virginia police officer

According to the Prince William County Police Department, a 25-year-old woman from Washington, DC, is facing charges for resisting arrest and kicking an officer in Manassas, Virginia.

Authorities called cops to Wellington Road and Lexington Valley Drive in May to investigate a crash. Officers discovered Anisa Joy Leonard, the accident victim, was intoxicated and attempted to hold her.

Leonard refused to get into the police cruiser and kicked an officer, according to authorities. She was resecured and placed in the van.

Leonard faces charges of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, DUI, unreasonable refusal, and obstruction of justice.

The court date has not yet been established.
