Officers from the Flowood Police Department discovered the body of a missing person earlier today.
The man, Davion Holmes, 21, of Indianola, Mississippi, was reported missing after leaving Merit Health River Oaks Hospital in Flowood on August 17.
According to the FPD, numerous authorities collaborated on the inquiry and searched the surrounding locations.
On August 31, FPD responded to a call of a body found in a lake near the hospital.
The body was later identified as Holmes, and the cause of death is currently being investigated.
The FPD reports that no foul play is suspected at this time.
However, Holmes’ body has been transferred to the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
This investigation is ongoing.
The Flowood Police Department stated that the family has been notified and that they extend their sincere condolences for their loss.
