Felon brothers detained for threatening couple at gunpoint over riding ATVs in front of home: PCSO

A pair of brothers with dozens of criminal convictions are in trouble again after Polk County deputies say they pulled a gun on a couple riding their ATVs near the brothers’ home.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Joseph Sibold, 45, and Jason Sibold, 43, arrived at the victims’ residence in the Winter Haven neighborhood on Sunday evening.

Deputies said the brothers were unhappy with the couple for riding their ATVs in front of the suspects’ home on Reynosa Road.

Jason Sibold threatened to shoot the victims, while Joseph Sibold took a gun from their pickup truck and passed it to Jason, according to authorities.

Investigators say Jason pointed a gun at the couple and threatened to kill them before the brothers left.

Deputies say they spotted the suspects less than a mile away, and they initially denied being out of the house or carrying a pistol before being apprehended.

According to the sheriff’s office, Jason Sibold has 21 felony and six misdemeanor convictions, while Joseph Sibold has 11 felony and 11 misdemeanor convictions.
