Authorities on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, confirmed the death of a man who went missing in Seat Pleasant last month, after weeks of family and police search efforts.
According to the Seat Pleasant Police Department, Dakarai Djehuti, 32, was identified by the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner after his body was discovered in a lake in Lake Arbor, Maryland, on August 22nd. This afternoon, a resident noticed the bones in the water.
Djehuti, a father of young children, was last seen on Aug. 17 near Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and 69th Place. Relatives reported he left the house without his phone or wallet, which they regarded as exceedingly unusual. In the days that followed, family members planned daily searches, canvassed areas, and distributed posters in the hopes of finding him.
According to police, the investigation is ongoing, but no foul play is suspected, and no suspects are being sought.
