A death investigation was launched after human remains were discovered in a wooded area in Central Florida.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death in Lutz, near Tampa.
Last month, deputies responded to a report of possible human remains in a wooded area in the 19100 block of Ramblewood Road.
Deputies confirmed the discovery, and the Medical Examiner’s Office established that the remains were those of a female. There were no obvious apparent signs of trauma.
As of the last report, detectives were working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to confirm the woman’s identification and cause of her death.
Local law enforcement reports that this is an ongoing inquiry.
