The unprecedented $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot was won on Sunday by people in Missouri and Texas, but two Oregonians won big this week on smaller lottery tickets.
On Sunday, one Oregon person was among the 20 winners of a $1 million Powerball drawing. Melanie Mesaros, an Oregon Lottery spokesman, could not specify where the winning ticket was sold on Sunday but said further information would be available on Monday.
Sunday’s win follows another Powerball jackpot last week.
On Thursday, the $1 million Powerball jackpot of another Oregonian doubled to $2 million due to a successful “power play.”
According to Mesaros, the winning ticket was purchased in Beaverton.
