Three people are facing several drug and firearm charges after a bust at a local hotel, police announced Monday.
According to the Wytheville Police Department and the Claytor Lake Regional Drug Task Force, the arrests were made in response to a trespassing complaint filed at the Spark by Hilton hotel on Sunday, September 7.
When cops arrived, they discovered two individuals in violation of hotel policy.
During the initial inquiry, police reported finding multiple bags containing a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine and fentanyl, as well as mushrooms and drug paraphernalia, in plain sight inside the hotel room.
A search warrant was issued, resulting in the seizure of around 12 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 20 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and 4 grams of suspected cocaine.
According to police, a third suspect later arrived at the hotel with stolen stuff and a pistol. A search of her vehicle turned up a handgun and an extra magazine.
Suspects were identified as:
- James Franklin Brumback, 68, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule I or II drug and possession of stolen property.
- Wyatt Leif Gil, 32, of Roanoke, Virginia, charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule I or II drug and possession of stolen property.
- Stella Verdaunta Farmer, 61, of Atkins, Virginia, charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule I or II drug and possession of a firearm by a felon.
According to police, the seized chemicals will be transported to a forensic lab for analysis. An E-Trace is also being performed on the firearm.
