Arizona Man Discovered Dead In Lake Powell After Jumping From Houseboat

An Arizona man was discovered dead in Lake Powell after jumping in on Saturday night and never resurfacing, Utah authorities confirmed Monday.

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) got a 911 call at 8 p.m. reporting that a 32-year-old man had not resurfaced after diving into Lake Powell from a houseboat.

The boat was found on the north side of Wahweep Bay, which is on the Utah side of the lake.

KCSO, the Utah Department of Natural Resources, and the United States National Park Service all responded to the scene.

According to KCSO, the man’s body was discovered early Sunday morning in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, approximately 17 feet underwater.

His body was brought to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office, and the case is still being investigated.

There were no more details revealed.
