Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents raided a car wash in Long Beach’s Bixby Knolls neighborhood on Saturday morning, arresting some individuals, according to witnesses and video posted to social media.
The raid began at 10 a.m., when many ICE agents arrived and apprehended people on the spot. Footage recorded by a bystander shows masked agents escorting individuals into government vehicles as onlookers expressed shock.
It was not immediately clear how many people were held or why they were arrested. ICE has not issued a formal comment about the operation.
Community members reacted rapidly online, with some spreading the footage on other social media channels.
This is a developing story, and it will be updated as more information becomes available.
