13 Detained During Multi-county Vape Shop Raid, All Bonds Set

The Perry County Sheriff’s Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration raided over 20 businesses and residences in the Pine Belt on Thursday following an exhaustive investigation.

The multi-county crackdown focused on people selling alcohol, vapes, THC, and other illegal substances to underage customers.

According to a news statement from the Perry County Sheriff’s Department, this was a pervasive problem, and many of the defendants had close relationships.

Local law enforcement confirmed that the following individuals were arrested in Forrest County on criminal charges:

Khaled Alhamidi, 55, of Petal

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • trafficking while in the possession of a firearm
  • conspiracy to sale a controlled substance
  • Total bond: $100,000

Akram Alhamidi, 25, of Petal

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • trafficking while in the possession of a firearm
  • conspiracy to sale a controlled substance
  • Total bond: $100,000

Omar Obaid, 40, of Hattiesburg

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Total bond: $20,000

Gaizan Abubaker, 37, of Houma, LA

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Total bond: $35,000

Rami Selah, 32, of Petal

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • trafficking of controlled substances while in possession of an enhanced firearm (dropped)
  • Total bond: $20,000

Bassel Saleh, 53, of Petal

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Total bond: $60,000

Mark Shaibi, 24, of Petal

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • trafficking while in the possession of a firearm
  • Total bond: $35,000

Gabr Al-Gabri, 36, of Petal

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • trafficking of controlled substances while in possession of an enhanced firearm
  • Total bond: $35,000

Basel Rashad, 30, of Petal

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • trafficking while in the possession of a firearm
  • Total bond: $60,000

Anmed Elgabry, 30, of Petal

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • trafficking of controlled substances while in possession of an enhanced firearm (dropped)
  • Total bond: $20,000

Mohammed Riyadh, 31, of Hattiesburg

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Total bond: $20,000

Abdulnaser Nasser, 34, of Petal

  • aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Total bond: $35,000

Ahmedou Mohamedlaamar, 22

  • trafficking of a controlled substance

We anticipate that some detainees from Forrest County will make their initial appearance after noon on Friday.
