The Perry County Sheriff’s Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration raided over 20 businesses and residences in the Pine Belt on Thursday following an exhaustive investigation.
The multi-county crackdown focused on people selling alcohol, vapes, THC, and other illegal substances to underage customers.
According to a news statement from the Perry County Sheriff’s Department, this was a pervasive problem, and many of the defendants had close relationships.
Local law enforcement confirmed that the following individuals were arrested in Forrest County on criminal charges:
Khaled Alhamidi, 55, of Petal

- trafficking while in the possession of a firearm
- conspiracy to sale a controlled substance
- Total bond: $100,000
Akram Alhamidi, 25, of Petal
- aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
- trafficking while in the possession of a firearm
- conspiracy to sale a controlled substance

Omar Obaid, 40, of Hattiesburg
- aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
- Total bond: $20,000
Gaizan Abubaker, 37, of Houma, LA
- aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)

Rami Selah, 32, of Petal
- aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance (x2)
