The body of a 47-year-old man was discovered in Engle Lake on Monday, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
Michael Vinson, a Ligonier resident, had been reported missing earlier that morning after failing to return from his fishing expedition. Before searching for Vinson’s body with side-scan sonar, conservation authorities discovered a kayak, paddle, and fishing equipment lying on the lake.
DNR divers found his body around 4 p.m., around 25 feet underwater.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
