School Dismissal Update

CCSD parents and staff,

Governor Herbert announced late Monday afternoon that all K-12 public schools in Utah will extend school dismissals until May 1st.

We recognize the challenge this announcement will pose over the next few weeks as families and schools face the unfolding crisis surrounding a pandemic while continuing efforts to navigate a very different educational environment at home and at school.

Over the last week, it has been inspiring to watch our community come together. Teachers have spent countless hours trying to shift to an online environment and still help their students feel part of a school community. School support staff have taken on different roles including calling students, distributing technology, putting student packets together, delivering lunches, and cleaning schools.  Parents have shifted their roles to help facilitate their children’s education while still dealing with their many other responsibilities. We appreciate all of those efforts.

As we move forward, continued cooperation and communication will be essential. We encourage students and parents to reach out to their teacher or school office with questions or concerns. CCSD meal services will continue for children 0-18.  The CCSD Information Hotline (435-792-7699) will continue to be available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
