A Milford man was detained earlier this week after police said he was in possession of a firearm on school property.
According to reports, 21-year-old Joshua Walker arrived at Milford High School’s pick-up line for parents after dismissal and dropped a weapon from his person as he got out of his vehicle. When he tried to put the pistol back in his waistband, a kid noticed it and called school officials. The school resource officer swiftly apprehended Walker.
Police said there is no evidence Walker meant to hurt anyone at the school, and no threats exist at any of the schools in the Milford School District.
Walker was charged with possessing a firearm in a safe school zone, using it to commit a felony, carrying a concealed lethal weapon, and possessing an untraceable firearm. He was then imprisoned on $45,000 cash bail.
