Ms. McCoy’s disappearance sparked a citywide search, with authorities turning to the public for help after her last sighting on September 17, 2025.

She had been spotted around 7:00 p.m. on the 200 block of W Overton Road, Dallas, Texas, before disappearing.

According to the Dallas Police Department, she fled on foot in an unknown direction from witnesses.

The cops described a woman who stood 5’01” tall, weighed 170 pounds, and had gray hair and brown eyes. Her clothing, a black and white long-sleeve shirt with black leggings and tan/brown eyeglasses, was expected to draw attention. In her hunt, community members and local authorities combed Dallas in the hopes of securely returning Ms. McCoy home.

As the hours and days passed, the desperate plea for help rang throughout the city. According to the police’s original request, the number to call authorities is 9-1-1 or (214) 671-4268, and the case number is 134438-2025.
