With millions and millions of people stuck inside, there isn’t much to do. Riot games, the creator of the biggest multiplayer competitive game of all time, League of Legends, seems to be taking advantage of all of this with the release of their newest game, Valorant. Valorant is the first ever competitive FPS game that Riot has released, and it seems to be taking the world by storm. The game has broken many concurrent viewer records on Twitch and Mixer, and is gaining insane attention from gamers all around the world. The strange part of all of this however, is that the game is still in closed Beta, meaning that only a select few people are getting to play. The only way to gain Beta access is to watch live streams of people on Twitch and get randomly selected by Riot Games. There is much speculation around this game still, even with the immense success that it is getting. Many say that it is just a passing fad, and will die off in a few months, while others say it’s going to be the next big thing and compete with industry giants such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive. There isn’t much to go off of currently, as many changes are still being made to the game. Valorant could be completely different when it fully releases this summer. With its Free-To-Play model and cartoon-like graphics, this might just be the next big game to look out for, much like Fortnite was when it was released.
