Man From Brazil Detained After Caught Driving Without License

A Davenport man was taken into custody for driving without a license after being pulled over for an improper tag.

At 6:10 a.m. Monday, a deputy stopped Juvenil Rodriguez Caroso, 58, in a white Ford F-150 near West North Boulevard and Citizens Boulevard in Leesburg, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy stated to Rodriguez Cardoso that the vehicle’s tag was not visible. A female passenger in the vehicle assisted the deputy in translating when he inquired about Rodriguez Cardoso’s license, registration, and insurance. However, he had never been awarded a license in the United States and had no licenses from any other country, according to the report.

A record check through dispatch proved the data to be correct. The report also stated that he was stopped for the same offense in 2015.

Rodriguez Cardoso was later arrested on charges of driving without a license (he had never had one). The Brazilian native was taken to Lake County Jail and then freed after paying a $500 bond.
