A 43-year-old Wisconsin man was apprehended on Sunday for his sixth operating while intoxicated offense following a report of a suspected impaired motorcyclist.
According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were summoned just after 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 21 to a report of a suspected drunk driver riding a motorcycle in Merrimac.
Deputies tracked down the motorcycle and its operator at the Ferry Crossing Bar. The driver, Trevor J. Cone, 43, of Merrimac, displayed indicators of intoxication during their confrontation with law enforcement.
Cone was asked to complete field sobriety tests and arrested when deputies discovered that he was intoxicated.
Cone had not been formally charged as of midday on September 22. However, the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office is handling charges for OWI-sixth offenses: operating after revocation (four or more), failure to install an ignition interlock device, possession of THC, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
