Female Student Brings Knife To Central Florida School And Threatens To Kill Male Student

A female student brought a knife to a Central Florida school, threatening to kill a male student.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a ninth-grade student at Spoto High School in Riverview, near Tampa, for bringing a weapon on school grounds.

This month, school administrators notified the school resource deputy about a verbal confrontation between 15-year-old Di’Naste Gibson and a male classmate. During the exchange, which took place in front of an adult witness, Gibson allegedly told the other kid, “We are not going to fight here; let’s go to the park,” and “I’m going to kill you.”

An administrative inspection of Gibson’s belongings uncovered a serrated pocket knife. During an interview with the school resource deputy, Gibson admitted to showing the knife during the incident.

According to local law officials, Gibson was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a weapon on school grounds. She has no previous criminal background.
