Fortnite, A dying game?

It’s no secret that Fortnite hasn’t been pulling in the numbers of players and attention it once did. There has been a slow decline in the amount of content being produced on the game, and many dedicated Fortnite streamers and pro players, like KingRichard and MrGrimmmz, have left the game due to frustrations with Epic Games and the state of the current Fortnite competitive scene. Popular streamer Tyler Ninja Blevins, once the world’s biggest Fortnite star, took to Twitter to express his discontent with the current state of the game in a response to a statement from his friend SypherPK, “Wow, SypherPK‘s most recent video really hits hard. I love Fortnite so much and really wanna see the game thrive again and be goofy and fun in regular matches. Would really bring back the streamers and YouTubers we all miss.” There isn’t a chance the game is going to completely die or become irrelevant anytime soon, as it is still topping Twitch charts and dominating the YouTube trending page, but the change in viewership and player base has been noticeable, and to some who make a career out of this game, quite worrying. Whether or not Epic Games will respond and act upon the outrage from pro players and high tier streamers remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, something needs to be done if the game wants to stop the decline of its once dedicated playerbase.
