Pennsylvania Fentanyl Distributor Sentenced To 21 Years In Prison For Role In Fatal Overdose

A Pennsylvania woman, Kaylee Ann Widmer, 25, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for her involvement in a fentanyl distribution conspiracy that resulted in death. Senior United States District Judge Robert D. Mariani imposed the sentence on September 23, 2025, for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute oxycodone and 40 grams or more of fentanyl, resulting in death.

According to Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus, Widmer, along with her boyfriend, Christopher Potter, and others, conspired to distribute controlled substances across Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties between January 2022 and February 2023.

Widmer supplied fentanyl to co-conspirator Santino Bellucci, who sold the drug that killed someone on December 18, 2022, according to the inquiry. Widmer allegedly obtained substantial amounts of fentanyl from people in the Hazleton, PA region during the conspiracy.

Widmer’s co-conspirators, Santino Bellucci, 28, of Dickson City, PA, and Christopher Potter, 30, of Scranton, PA, earlier received the same 21-year prison sentence from Senior Judge Mariani.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Dunmore Police Department worked together to prosecute the case, which was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jenny Roberts.

This conviction is part of a multi-pronged Department of Justice strategy that includes Operation Take Back America, which targets transnational criminal organizations, and a district-wide initiative by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania aimed at combating the heroin and opioid epidemic by prosecuting traffickers in the region.
