Swim and Coronavirus

Swim and Coronavirus

This year has been an enigma of years. With Coronavirus ravaging the country, we have had shutdowns and mandatory mask mandates to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It’s been required in schools, in stores, and nearly any public place with a roof. This has surprisingly had little to no impact on the swim team. Since swim is primarily in the water in small groups, little to no accommodations have been needed this year. Being a sport that is somewhat turn based with one person swimming in each lane at a time, the swim team implements natural social distancing. Coaches, however, still have to wear masks since they are out of the pool and around others.
