A Pennsylvania teen, 14-year-old Judah Courtney, is accused of stabbing his biological mother and a woman to death. Courtney allegedly boasted to his girlfriend about killing the women, saying, “I killed my parents.”
According to a Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) announcement, the incident happened on September 29. Around 6 p.m., the PSP responded to a Flick Avenue home in Carrolltown Borough. They were called to help the Carrolltown Borough Police Department investigate the “suspicious deaths” of two persons.
Olivia Lee Courtney, Judah’s 32-year-old mother, and Ashley Renne Cook, a 38-year-old woman and family friend, were pronounced dead at the site. They had many stab wounds, and troopers found three knives at the site.
WTAJ reported, citing a criminal complaint, that Judah Courtney allegedly told a neighbor that “someone” had slain the women. However, when responding officers spoke with Courtney, they spotted blood on his clothes and injuries to his hands, according to the affidavit.
The complaint also described the extent of the victims’ injuries. They had defensive injuries to their hands and were stabbed several times in the heads and torsos.
‘I Did It’
The neighbor informed authorities that Courtney had initially stated, “They’re going to think I did it,” according to the complaint. During a walk, Courtney allegedly said, “I just can’t believe this all happened,” and “I did it.”
Police then spoke with Courtney’s girlfriend. She allegedly informed authorities that she received a message from the 14-year-old on Snapchat that stated, “I killed my parents,” according to WJAC. Interestingly, the message was apparently followed by “JK,” which means “just kidding.”
According to the lawsuit, the teen girl reportedly admitted to receiving a video from Courtney that displayed the women’s bodies.
The PSP later interviewed Judah Courtney, who allegedly confessed to killing Olivia and Cook. Furthermore, according to the complaint, he described the three knives that were later seized from the apartment. He allegedly confessed to attempting to dispose of his bloodied garments, which were also discovered at the site.
Courtney was charged with two charges of criminal homicide, four felony counts of aggravated assault with intent to inflict serious bodily damage, three misdemeanor counts of possessing criminal tools, and tampering with evidence.
The 14-year-old is currently jailed without bond at Cambria County Prison. His next court appearance is planned on October 16.
