Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 13 people following a burglary investigation that turned into a cocaine bust.
According to PCSO, deputies executed a search warrant at Kalen Cox’s apartment on September 19. During the search, deputies said they discovered methamphetamine and stolen property associated with other local theft and burglary cases.
As a result of the findings, arrest warrants were obtained for Cox and Matthew Lester for the meth found on the site. On September 28, authorities arrested Cox for allegedly possessing additional meth.
Detectives said Cox and Lester are tied to at least eight burglary and theft investigations, which led them to a place where more stolen stuff was discovered.
A second search warrant was executed at a home on Pine Valley Drive in Polk County as part of the stolen property investigation. More meth and drug paraphernalia were recovered in plain view at the premises, requiring the execution of a second search warrant. This search purportedly turned up more than 80 grams of meth.
Additional meth was discovered in a bedroom allegedly belonging to Storme Tiner, who is charged with making and delivering a controlled substance.
At the time of the search, there were 12 people at the house. All of them have been arrested and charged with narcotics possession, among other charges:
- Matthew Lester, 36 – Arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and a new possession charge.

Several of them had outstanding warrants for a variety of criminal offenses, including driving, drug possession, and parole violation. Detectives apparently recovered identifying information as well as stolen mail thought to be from local residents. The PCSO reports that the investigation continues, with the expectation of additional charges.
“Sheriff Byron Lyons and Chief Anthony Lowrie remind the public of the importance of documenting serial numbers for valuable items such as generators, as well as VINs for mowers, ATVs, and side-by-sides,” Sheriff Byron Lyons said. “These identifiers play a crucial role in confirming stolen property and ensuring that recovered items can be returned to their rightful owners. Several pieces of stolen property, motorcycle and US mail are being returned to the original owners.”
