A man was found shot to death outside a home in southwest Houston shortly after midnight Saturday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened around 12:43 a.m. in the 7100 block of Sonnet Glen.
Family members said they heard a gunshot and ran outside to find the 36-year-old unconscious in the walkway leading to the front door.
He was pronounced dead on the spot by EMS.
According to investigators, the individual resided in the residence with his parents and several other relatives. His parents were inside when the incident occurred.
A red vehicle was seen leaving the area immediately after the gunshot, although it is unclear whether the victim was targeted or the shooting was random.
We are seeking a warrant to search the home for any evidence that could aid the inquiry.
Deputies say there is now no sign of a persistent threat to the local neighborhood.
