New York Lottery: Woman Wins $1 Million Scratch-off Prize

Lottery officials announced that a Suffolk County woman made a life-changing purchase by winning the top prize of $1 million in the New York Lottery’s Bonus 20X scratch-off game.

Mary Van Buren of Central Islip won the prize, opting for a one-time lump sum payout of $436,171 after required withholdings, according to officials.

The winning ticket was purchased at Stop & Shop, 2650 Sunrise Highway, East Islip.

As of this writing, the Bonus 20X scratch-off ticket still has a top prize of $1 million. Players can view the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game by downloading the Game Report from nylottery.ny.gov.

During fiscal year 2024-2025, New York Lottery scratch-off games generated a total of $4,339,794,048. Suffolk County school districts received $314,384,515 in Lottery Aid to Education funds for the same time period.
