NYC Man Wins $1 Million Mega Millions Prize And Chooses One-time Lump Sum Payment

A Bronx man made a life-changing purchase when he won the second prize of $1 million in the New York Lottery’s Mega Millions game, officials reported.

Jason Williams of the Bronx won the jackpot after matching the first five numbers in the June 11, 2024, multi-state drawing. According to investigators, he chose a one-time lump sum payout of $606,313 after taxes were withheld.

The winning ticket was purchased at Three Star Candy Store, 1673 Metropolitan Ave. in the Bronx.

The winning numbers for that evening were 01, 05, 07, 22, and 24, with the Mega Ball number 08.

During fiscal year 2024-2025, the New York Lottery’s Mega Millions game generated total sales of $358,368,853. Lottery Aid to Education revenues totaled $1,427,185,199 for school districts in all five boroughs during the same time.
