Alleged Copper Thieves Detained At Vacant North Houston Property By Constable Deputies

Constable deputies on patrol stumbled upon a duo of alleged copper thieves at an empty property in north Houston. According to a Facebook post by Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4, on October 23rd, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office were doing a routine check at what was once Main Street America.

The cops observed two women, subsequently identified as Kailyn White and Brooke Hermis, trespassing. During the operation to apprehend the suspects, one attempted to leave but was later located hiding behind an abandoned building on the property. An investigation quickly revealed that the two were in the process of stealing copper wire.

Following the incident, both women were arrested on charges related to the copper caper and outstanding warrants. “Kailyn White was arrested on open warrants and accused of theft of precious metals. Her bond was imposed at $10,000.00 by the 179th District Court,” said Mark Herman, a Harris County Constable Precinct 4 team member. “Brooke Hermis was arrested on open warrants and charged with criminal trespass. Her bond was set at $100.00 by County Court 12.”

The case exemplifies a continuing problem with metal theft, which frequently targets abandoned structures for hidden valuables. Constable Herman’s office welcomes citizens to download their “C4 NOW” smartphone app, which provides real-time updates on crime, arrests, safety tips, and traffic accidents in their region.
