Local Man Sentenced To Prison For Kidnapping 3 Women, Raping 2 Of Them

A Forest Park man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to kidnapping three women and raping two of them over a little more than a month, according to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors said Rodolfo Castillo kidnapped two of the women in 2023 from his apartment complex on West Kemper Road, hopping into their cars as they attempted to flee.

According to authorities, he approached the third woman at a Kroger supermarket in Woodlawn and ordered her into his father’s truck. She escaped by jumping from the truck in traffic, sustaining significant injuries.

Authorities stated that Castillo knew none of his victims.

Forest Park Police Detective Rebecca Davis feels there are possibly more victims out there.

“I know that after the first initial news went out, we had several women call and state that he had attempted something with them. We did not have any witnesses or victims come to us saying that it happened, but he had told our first victim that this wasn’t his first time, and he knew what he was doing,” said Davis.

She further stated that he would likely have continued to assault other women.

“I don’t know his mindset. However, I know that he would have at least continued kidnapping and raping these women,” said Davis.

On Monday, Castillo pled guilty to two counts of rape and one count of kidnapping. A judge sentenced him to 15 to 16 1/2 years in prison, crediting him for 983 days already spent in jail since his arrest.

“I would like to see longer sentences for crimes of this magnitude, but I’m not the one who was robbed, kidnapped, assaulted, and raped, but all these women were, and it was their decision,” said Pillich.

She also hopes he will not reoffend if he is released.

“It’s really heinous acts that happened here, and someone doesn’t just do that over the course of four days repeatedly if they’re not planning on doing it again at some point in their lives,” Pillich said.

His sentencing is entirely due to the brave victims who came forward.

“They were threatened; they were told that their families would be killed if they went to the police, and they still, because they didn’t want to see this happen to anybody else, they were courageous, they came to us, they worked with us, they showed up at every single court hearing that we asked them to be at. So, without them, he would still be out there doing awful things to people,” said Davis.

Castillo was also labeled as a Tier III sex offender, the highest degree under Ohio law, which necessitates lifetime registration. During his initial court appearance, prosecutors stated that Castillo is not a US citizen.
