2 Apprehended After Major Drug Bust During Traffic Stop In Columbia County

Two people were taken into custody late Friday night after a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office K9 deputy discovered a big amount of drugs during a traffic check on I-90/94/39 in the Town of Dekorra.

According to the sheriff’s office, the stop took place about 10:40 p.m. on November 7, when a deputy pulled over a car for an equipment violation. During the inquiry, the deputy discovered that the passenger used a fictitious name and attempted to conceal illegal narcotics in plain sight.

A search of the vehicle turned up methamphetamine, fentanyl, LSD, Schedule II narcotics, and drug paraphernalia. Both occupants were detained and taken to the Columbia County Jail.

The driver was identified as Kaitlyn Goodell, 33, of Baraboo. She is charged with many counts, including possession with intent to deliver more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor bail jumping, and probation violation.

The passenger was identified as Phillip Von Behren, 42, of Madison. He faces comparable accusations, such as possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine in excess of 50 grams, possession of Schedule II narcotics, possession of LSD, possession of drug paraphernalia, impeding an officer, and a Department of Corrections warrant.

The Wisconsin State Patrol and Blystone’s Towing & Repair assisted on the site.

Officials said the case is still being investigated, and anyone with information regarding illegal drug activity in Columbia County is invited to call Columbia County Crime Stoppers at 800-293-TIPS.
