Nassau Police arrested two Manhattan residents on Sunday in connection with a Target burglary in Westbury, and the two were later released to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody, according to authorities.
On Sunday at 7:32 p.m., police from the department’s Third Squad responded to Target at 999 Corporate Drive for a larceny-in-progress call.
Officers discovered and arrested Gustavo Tellez Carillo, 36, and Erika Gomez Moreno, 33, who live together at 45 E. 45th St.
Further investigation found that the individuals are in the United States unlawfully and face removal proceedings, according to officers.
Carillo and Moreno were both charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. They were freed on appearance tickets but were promptly captured by ICE agents.
